Glasgow has always been a city of knowledge and, just as importantly, the application of that knowledge to useful (and profitable) ends. This story is embodied in the history of its High Street, from the Medieval Cathedral down to the Tolbooth Steeple, where movers and shakers have moved and shaken the world for hundreds of years, often for good but, sometimes, not so good ends. And, as an added bonus, the man whose brilliance gave us global warming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
