Spring updates at our Outdoor Wellbeing Hub

Our team have been working hard over the cold winter months to transform our Outdoor Wellbeing Hub into a relaxing space for all to enjoy the benefits of nature. We are so lucky to have a green space within the city where we will be able to grow lots of fruits and veg which we can then enjoy with our community.

We also have a large sheltered area so, no matter the weather, we can be outside together. We have enjoyed using the fire pit in this area to defrost our frozen toes and share some tea after working away at the allotment.

We are so pleased to have plants bursting to life now that spring is upon us. Our strawberry and blueberry plants have woken up and are pushing out some new leaves as well as the garlic bulbs and daffodils too. The potatoes are currently sprouting and soon can be planted which will be most exciting to harvest in the late summer.

This Tuesday, we built a greenhouse so we can germinate more seeds (watch this space for beans and tomatoes soon!) as well as protect our plants from any particularly Scottish weather.

Thank you to our volunteers and participants who have joined us in this journey so far! We can’t wait to share our space with more of the community too. If you would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
