Come in and join our Mindful Walk and enjoy the beauty of Rouken Glen Park. Our activity is designed to encourage people to bring awareness to walking, which, for many of us, is a daily activity that we do on a “distracted autopilot”. We will also try and see if we can look at things we usually encounter in our daily lives with different eyes and it is an opportunity to get closer to nature and socialise.
If you’d like to try something different, this is a lovely way to enjoy a day out immersing ourselves in nature by mindfully using our five senses. We will pass by a couple of impressive sights which include a pretty boating pond, a large waterfall surrounded by steep woodland, and a delightful walled garden. No experience is required, and the walk is suitable for all ages. No equipment is required either and we hope that after this experience, you will be motivated to fit mindful walks into your daily routine.
The route is about 3 km long and will take approximately 1 – 1:30 hours, as we stop to look in wonder at the beautiful sights and, of course, to take some photos!
We will meet in front of the Glasgow Central Train station, on Gordon street, and travel together to Whitecraigs Station. From there, it’s only a short walk to the park. Outdoors For You will cover the travelling expenses from Central station to Whitecraigs Station for asylum seekers and Refugees.
